Over the past 10 years, the Sustainable University Day (SUD) has become a key networking event for stakeholders from Swiss higher education institutions working to strengthen the culture of sustainability in their organizations. On September 1st 2026, the SUD will take place in the Kulturpark Zurich hosted in collaboration with WWF Switzerland and the Zurich Knowledge Center for Sustainable Development (ZKSD).

Universities play a key role in sustainable transformation. Through their “Third Mission”, besides research and teaching, universities can share knowledge and co-develop practical solutions with partners from business, politics, and civil society (you can find more background information about this topic here).

The afternoon event, jointly organized by the WWF One Planet Lab and the WWF Team for Sustainable Universities, aims to foster dialogue among representatives from higher education, business, government, politics, and civil society, while creating new connections and joint project ideas.​
