SUD Sustainable University Day 2026
Over the past 10 years, the Sustainable University Day (SUD) has become a key networking event for stakeholders from Swiss higher education institutions working to strengthen the culture of sustainability in their organizations.
The WWF One Planet Lab and the WWF Team for Sustainable Universities jointly organized the afternoon program of the SUD, focusing on transfer and cooperation projects for sustainability transformation. The event highlighted the key role of universities in driving sustainability transformation beyond research and teaching, by sharing knowledge and co-developing practical solutions with partners from business, politics, and civil society (you can find more background information about this topic here).
The event opened with a plenary session, followed by six workshops exploring different aspects and impact approaches of sustainability transformation. Topics ranged from transformative research and teaching and enabling conditions to thematically focused sessions with a practical orientation, including project ideas on sufficiency in businesses, nutrition and food, and advertising and consumption.
