New study guide
on sustainability

31.03.2026

In order to tackle pressing global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, resource scarcity and social inequality, we need well-trained specialists with sound expertise and strong practical skills. A sustainability-oriented degree programme provides the necessary understanding of complex ecological, social and economic interrelationships in order to develop sustainable solutions.
In recent years, Swiss universities have established a large number of (inter)disciplinary degree programmes with a focus on sustainability. However, this diversity has made it increasingly difficult to maintain an overview.
The WWF study guide offers a carefully curated selection of sustainability-oriented bachelor's, master's and continuing education programmes and helps prospective students find a suitable degree programme.

In the beginning of the presentation, an introduction to the study guide along with main observations from the research were presented. In a next step, interests of prospective students from the perspective of a career adviser were outlined. Additionally, the Co-Lead of the WWF OnePlanetLab provided more information about their work and shared their thoughts about skills for a desirable and sustainable future. Finally the session was closed by an engaged discussion. The inputs of the speakers were in German, French and English. â€‹
