Potential of Plural Economics for Teaching and Research -
Critical perspective of economic paradigms

What can you expect?

This webinar explores the role of plural and heterodox approaches in economics teaching and research, critically reflecting on dominant paradigms and the current state of the discipline.

Our speakers

Katy Shields is the Founder and Course Director of the Regenerative Economy Lab and Co-Creator of the acclaimed documentary podcast series Tipping Point: The True Story of The Limits to Growth. Drawing on her experience in mainstream economics, she brings a critical perspective on dominant economic thinking and its implications for addressing today’s interconnected crises.

Prof. Dr. Anthony Patt is Professor of Climate Policy and leads the Climate Policy Lab at ETH Zurich. His work focuses on achieving net-zero emissions by or before 2050, with particular emphasis on the technological, social, and policy pathways required to make this transition possible.

Together, they will discuss the potential of plural economics to broaden economic teaching and research, while critically examining the assumptions underlying dominant economic paradigms.
